Chapter 2: Our Dog Has A Name

Told in 3rd person!

Minda stood quietly as Clare and Kim slept. This is something she often did ever since they were babies. These girls are growing so fast and soon Clare would be a teenager something Minda pushed back to the back of her mind as often as she could.

Minda was enjoying her Saturday hanging out in her pajamas till she felt the need to get dressed. She was busy doing house work while James was outside fulfilling another big project that took a chunk of their savings but it needed to be done since a little dog would be joining the family soon.

James was working on a privacy fence to make sure their new family member had a safe place to play and didn't run off. The count down was going quickly in James and Minda's head while they looked at he calendar hoping the next 2 weeks went by as quickly as possible.

After a few hours Clare and Kim woke up. They headed out back to the swing set that their grandma and grandpa bought them. "Mommy, what is daddy building a fence for?" Asked a curious Kim. Minda tired to not lie but not spoil a surprise so she hesitated to say, "Well its for a surprise we are getting in a few weeks."  Clare then added, "Mom I hope we get a girl dog and we name her Missy. That would be so fun!" Minda about tripped while pushing Kim on the swing set. That was completely out of no where and Missy was a cute name for their furry friend who would be needing a new name.
(The name request was the winner of my Name Our Doggy Event I had up on facebook and here on my blog. Destiny Hailey Rose entered the name Missy and it was a winner. Thanks to everyone who entered a name/names. And thank you Destiny for requesting such a fitting name for the new family member.)

Minda couldn't think straight and pulled James inside to talk. James sat down wondering what could be so important. "Is this about having another baby?" James asked Minda. "No silly, this is about the dog. Clare and Kim are making interesting comments that make me think we should tell them." Minda and James stood up quickly when the back door slammed shut and the girls were in the kitchen getting a drink of water. James then called the girls into the living room. They came in with a hop in their step. James took Minda's hand. "Girls your mom and I would like to tell you something.

Minda smiled "So would you girls like to know what the surprise is?" Both girls started to smile and nodded their heads yes. "Well, your dad and I have decided we are going to be adopting a dog!"

Both girls started cheering and hugged each other. "This is so exciting." Clare said. Kimberly added to the excitement with her hands over her face and eyes as big as the moon. She was speechless but in a good way. "Mom is it a boy or a girl?" Minda then brought up the picture she was sent of the dog. "She's a 2 year old Yorki who was hurt by her previous owners and needs a loving home AND a new name." Clare then shouted "MISSY?" James and Minda looked Kim "Is that ok with you?" Kimberly was never one to start a fight so her response was not a surprise to them, "Missy is a great name. I love it!"

Clare and Kim went out with James to help with the installing of the fence. James also called a few friends over to help as well. Minda stayed inside to work out a little after receiving a very public comment about her weight. She tried hard not to let the comment bother her but she then began to think maybe that comment was something she needed to get the extra pounds off. She was determined to do this for her health and her kids.

After her work out Minda added another plant to their small garden. She couldn't wait to enjoy the fruit and vegetables they were beginning to grow.

The back yard looked great. Day turned into night and the fence was installed shortly after 10:00pm.  James set up the fire pit and the family gathered around it. He also has planned to install a small pool for the girls and the garden they had started already has 4 plants in it. Life in Hidden Springs was feeling amazing but there was still problems in this happy little family.

Chapter 1: Exciting News

Hi friends, I wanted to let you know that this is based off of a real family. Some names have been changed (sims and towns) and events are based off of real events that have taken place. I love comments and feed back. I hope to get YOU involved in things that happen too so keep an eye out for voting opportunities.

These posts are written from Minda's pov unless told
differently. I hope you enjoy Chapter 1: Exciting News

After Kim aged up James and I began talking about how we are happy with how things are going for us. The girls are doing great and becoming more like little adults. We have thought about maybe having more kids but that is still up in the air. I want kids, James doesn't. I have it locked in my wants just waiting on him to come on board, but even though I know the chances of having another baby are slim I can't help but feel like something is missing.

We were enjoying our Sunday dinner when James got a phone call from his Aunt who lives 4 hours away in Sunset Valley. They talked small talk and I was only hearing Jame's side of the conversation and the topics were pretty basic till he looked at me and smiled. He then brought the phone down to his lap and said "We need to talk." I can't tell you how nervous that made me.

He told his aunt that he would give her a call back after talking to me. When he hung up the phone I asked him what he needed to talk to me about and he said "not in front of the kids." This really got my mind racing. What could his aunt have possibly said that would interest me and that he can't talk about in front of the girls.  The girls finished eating and left James then decided it was time to talk.

James- Minda, My Aunt just told me about a dog that was rescued and need is free to a good home.

Me- Really? What kind of dog is it?

James- Its a female Yorkie named Minda.

My face lite up. I've wanted a female yorkie since I was little but figured it would never happen. I couldn't believe a female yorkie was free to a good home. I then asked the hardest question. "Can we afford a pet right now? We have debt and growing kids. You also said that when we get a dog it would be a girl since you are the only male in the house." I slouched in my chair knowing he would then rethink this and change his mind.

James started to clear the table "We could make it work. She's available for adoption next month." James then kissed my head. I wanted to believe what he was saying but I had to hear him say, yes we are getting the dog. But he kept saying "we can make it work" I then got a little loud and said "I really need you to say either yes or no. A simple we could make it work isn't going to cut it." He smiled and said, "Minda, we are going to have a little female yorkie next month." I was so excited I jumped into his arms nearly breaking his back.

The girls came running in asking what happened and we said "Its a surprise" we didn't want to get their hopes up. We then realized we needed a new name for this little one. I tossed out a few idea but non sounded good enough to James. I was getting frustrated and gave up.

The next morning the day care kids got dropped off and Clare was off to school I was on my computer and had an e-mail from the dog's foster mom. It had a picture of the dog.

The E-mail Read: Hi Minda my name is Sarah and James has informed his aunt that you are interested in adopting the Yorkie I'm fostering. She's a sweetie and your going to love her. I don't know much about her history other than she was almost dead when she was found but is healthy now. She's updated on her shots. I've enclosed a picture of her. She has to wait to get spayed and then you can have her. Her appointment is next month so you have plenty of time to prepare your house and kids for the new addition. Thank you, Sarah Miner

The picture made me cry. this was MY DOG she's a cutie and I started getting excited. Now that we could see her picture we thought now we HAVE to figure out a name to fit this dog. So now is where you can help. We have narrowed it down to 3 names. When you leave a comment PLEASE write what you think we should name the dog. I will look over the names suggested here and on my facebook event for this (Name Our Doggy) I will then talk it over with the my family members and we will pick our favorite. You WILL get credit for suggesting the name to us! Also you can gift me items from the E-Store but please don't feel like you have to.

Meet The Painters

Hidden Springs is a newly explored town that Sims have been living in for some time now but its newly found popularity has put it on the map. Hidden Springs has become known for its hills, valleys, and most of all the breath taking waterfalls. Many interesting people live here and among them are the Painter's.

This young small family moved to Hidden springs when their first born was just a baby. The house was classified as big at the time and perfect for a family of 3 but with the surprise arrival of their 2nd child things started to get a bit crowded.

James is the dad and only man in the house. He enjoys watching football, playing golf, working on computers, and fishing. He's currently working in the business field but is hoping to get a job in athletics as soon as they are hiring again.

Clare is a joyful girl who loves to wear make up, play barbies, read, and play with friends. She also loves playing house with her little sister. Swimming and painting are two of her favorite activities, but don't be fooled on Sundays you will most likely see her watching the foot ball game with daddy.

Kim is defiantly the goof ball of the family. With her funny faces, and the way she loves making people laugh. She loves being a big girl and knows that soon she will be starting Pre School. She is a girly girl like her sister but loves to be a tom boy as well. Kim has also become a local celebrity after being asked to model for a local business for advertising. She has a few modeling gigs a year and for a toddler that's not to bad.
Minda is the mom and like most mom's she the glue that holds the family together. She works from home as a child care provider a job she would someday like to not have and instead work for the school.
She loves taking pictures, blogging, meeting new people, and volunteering. She has a love of writing and is working on a few stories she would like to someday get published. And like most mom's after having kids she is working on loosing the weight she gained during her pregnancies but being busy doesn't help find spare time to work out.

Now that you have met the family I hope you are looking forward to following them as they begin a legacy in Hidden Springs. This legacy is in honor of my 1 year anniversary of blogging. I'm not sure where this family is going to go but I think it would be fun to involve YOU as much as possible with voting for different things. More news on that will be coming with the first official chapter.

What's To Come?

It has been quite some time since I've blogged on this site but I'm working on possibly doing something here. If its going to be pictures and links to my uploads, or just fun sims pictures. I want to do something here again. A neat fact about my sims is that 97% of the time I use born in game sims. I rarely create a sim and use them in my stories. I will even speed up the ageing so that a sim is ready when I am.

Another fun fact is that I have an amazing 6 year old helper. She loves helping me decorate, build, and even dress my sims and houses.

Alright well I'm signing out and SPREAD THE WORD... I'm coming back to this blog!
